In this 3 minute video I share with you a simple exercise you can do to take the pressure off, and allow you to change your state to one that is more empowering, in the moment.

Whatever state you want to be in (eg confident, relaxed, motivated, energised), you can use this exercise to bring back the memory of a time when you were feeling that really strongly, and use that memory in the present moment.

Last week I interviewed the lovely Jennifer Main, Transformational Guide and bestselling author of ‘The Space Between’.

I was asking Jennifer about how we can protect ourselves from getting hurt, as sensitive introverts in business, and how we can get over our fears especially when going networking.

Are you anxious when people unsubscribe from your mailing list?

Do you feel like a failure and tell yourself that your content must be rubbish ?

It can feel really tough when you put your heart and soul into creating great content that you feel will be really useful for your ideal clients.

You spend a long time creating just the right tone and quality, and including the just the right number of useful snippets.

You pluck up courage to send it out and then …

Bam …

You immediately get people unsubscribing – deleting you from their inbox and banishing you forever more into oblivion.

It hurts, I know, but it doesn’t have to crush you, and actually it’s a really good thing!

I’ve noticed the more content I put out into the world, the more I get people unsubscribing, and now I actually celebrate when it happens.

It shows me that I’m getting bolder in putting out more of ‘me’ into my message, and as I get clearer on what my message is, and begin to share that with the world, the more I’m becoming a ‘beacon’ – guiding my ideal people to want to learn more from me.

(And I know that I’m not right for everyone, and I’m really ok with that!)

Take heart, that when people unsubscribe, you are showing up in just the right way for your ideal clients to say YES to you.  (And you know that because those who are NOT right for you are saying Goodbye by unsubscribing).

How to speed up your writing process and reveal more of YOU in your marketing

writing processDoes your writing process take a long time, as you anxiously censor what you write in your blogs or social media posts?

Do you worry what other people might think if you reveal some hidden secret, or reveal something that’s not ‘freshly washed and ironed Sunday best’?

Do you find that your writing process includes a  ‘cleansing element’ as you try to get rid of anything that might cause people to ‘not like you’?

I had an experience recently that illustrates this issue perfectly.

I’m re-reading a book that I’d read many years ago called Conversations with God (Book One), and finding it so powerful and enlightening. I knew the gems within it should be shared more widely so that other people could learn from this amazing writing.

Then I stopped myself and thought:

Hmmm, I’m not sure I can share that, people might think I’m weird, reading a book about talking to God, (and I imagined my daughter saying “Who does that???” )

Then I got to thinking … actually spirituality is really important to me, and I’d like spiritual books and teachings to be more prevalent in my life – so my life is enriched and not depleted by mindless rubbish that’s so easily available on social media and on the internet.

Then I realised – it’s probably not just me who feels censored. But wait, there’s more!


Failure? What to do when it doesn’t work out

Last week I had a huge failure

I’d been working for weeks on using Facebook Ads; I’d grappled with the tech, I’d done my Audience research, I’d written and rewritten and tweaked the Ad copy, I’d set everything up so I could track the effectiveness of each element in a spreadsheet, I’d followed a training course to the letter to set it up to work for me…..

and then it didn’t.

Facebook has very strict rules on the wording and tone that can be used in your adverts, and something I wrote caused the ad to be rejected.

Gah!!

I’d worked SO hard, and done everything ‘right’ and still it didn’t work for me.

Has that ever happened to you?

Maybe you spent a long time learning a new piece of software to make your life easier, or you worked out a detailed plan for doing something and spent weeks implementing it and

… It . Just . Doesn’t . Work .

How do you deal with that failure?

There’ll be times as a solopreneur when you just want to quit – it all feels too much, you want to just give it all up because it’s too hard and complicated, and have an easy predictable life instead.

After working so hard and so long to get something set up, sometimes, through no fault of your own, stuff just doesn’t work out.

How do you salvage something useful out of the ruins?

How do you turn failure around so you can get back on track and begin again?
