Enabling your wisdom to emerge

Today I want to talk to you about finding the expertise that you have inside you.

I believe that we all have expertise.

We’re all wise experts in something, and I know that you have an expertise that maybe you’re already sharing, and maybe you’re not.

Maybe you’re thinking that you’re not sure what it is or you’re just not able to tap into it when you need it. And I know that I can struggle with that sometimes – when you want to sit down to write a blog post or to record a video and it’s almost like you’re a rabbit in the headlights. You know, inspiration seems to vanish and expertise kind of drains away.

But what I find useful is to let go of the pressure. I think also you have to find a way that works for you by trying different things.

It doesn’t work for me to sit down and just write something like one, two, three, instantly. That doesn’t work for me. But I found what does work is to be open. To do my gathering of expertise, if you like, away from the pressure.

So I take the pressure off myself and note down useful snippets that just come to me when the pressure’s off, when I’m on in front of a camera or on a deadline.  I note things down as I go along on scraps of paper, or in a voice recorder, or even just sitting and allowing that wisdom to come up.

Because I know that you have wisdom inside you to share with the world and sometimes you have to experiment with how you can get that out of yourself and into the world to be heard by the people who need to hear it.

So, an action step for you is to let go of the pressure to perform and allow yourself to have this expertise emerge, these nuggets of wisdom, these nuggets of help and tips for your clients.

Have them come up naturally and spontaneously. They will if you let them, if you allow them to come up.

Over to you:

What happens for you when you let go of the pressure to ‘perform’? Please share by leaving a comment in the box below. Remember you might just help someone else!

Hi Ann, I found this blog very insightful and timely as I am hosting an event and have found it stressful. What I found very helpful from your blog is to write things down or record them as an when they come to you. The other thing is to move your attention away from the task at hand and let your mind wonder… Both are great tips.

Hi Annette, thanks for your comment, and glad you found it helpful!. Yes, moving your attention away and letting your mind wander – takes away the pressure for a moment to let the rest of you catch up! I hope your event goes well ! x 🙂
